From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm and casual atmosphere where the aromas of simmering broths and sizzling grilled meats evoke the bustling street food culture of Saigon.

The menu at Thái Sơn is a treasure trove of traditional Vietnamese flavors. Signature dishes like the Pho DAC Biet — a rich, aromatic beef noodle soup — invite diners to savor deep, slow-cooked flavors, while the Bun Cha delivers the perfect balance of savory grilled pork and fresh herbs layered over vermicelli noodles. If you’re in the mood for something crispy and indulgent, the combination of seafood atop crunchy egg noodles offers a delightful textural contrast, bursting with the freshness of the sea.

For those who love classic Vietnamese spring rolls, the Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls and the special Vietnamese Spring Rolls are standouts, crisp and golden with fresh, flavorful fillings that celebrate tradition in every bite. Loyal customers rave about the Grilled Pork Chop with Shredded Pork on White Rice, where tender marinated pork is cooked to juicy perfection and paired with fragrant rice, making for a truly comforting dish.

The drink menu is equally impressive, showcasing authentic Vietnamese staples like the deeply aromatic Vietnamese Coffee and refreshing Vietnamese Iced Coffee, as well as a selection of beer options including Heineken, Tsing Tao, and classic Saigon beers, ideal accompaniments to the robust flavors of the dishes.

Reviewers consistently highlight the speedy service and great value, with dishes arriving swiftly and portions that satisfy hungry appetites without hurting your wallet. The grilled chicken and pork chop are frequently praised for their juicy, tender, and perfectly charred qualities, while noodles paired with spring rolls provide a comforting yet vibrant meal that keeps guests coming back year after year.

The menu caters to a wide range of tastes, ensuring that whether you’re craving a hearty bowl of beef soup or a delicate Vietnamese crepe with shrimp and pork, each dish bursts with fresh herbs, tangy notes, and perfectly balanced spices.

With a friendly atmosphere, attentive staff, and a menu packed with both traditional and innovative dishes, Thái Sơn is truly a hidden gem in New York City’s dining scene. Vietnamese restaurant with many kind of vn foods. I like spring roll and special triangle spring roll. Com phan (Vietnamese rice with kind of food with soup, stir vegetables, caramel fish, grilled pork chops…) very delicious and fresh. Broken rice served with grilled porkchop delicious too. Thai Son in New York City is a hidden gem serving incredible Vietnamese food. The grilled chicken is juicy and perfectly charred, the grilled pork chop is tender and flavorful with a sweet-savory glaze, and the Vietnamese spring rolls are fresh, crisp, and delicious. Great flavors, friendly service, and excellent value — a must-try spot in the city.

I absolutely LOVE Thai Son. They have some of the best Vietnamese food I have ever eaten, and I could not recommend it more. I come here every year for my birthday because of how delicious it is. My favorite dish is the number 47, noodles with spring rolls. The food also comes out within 10 minutes of ordering.

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants every time I come to the city, I make sure to stop by! I always order the beef cubes with a side of egg rolls, and it’s consistently delicious. I recently brought a couple of my good friends here, and they loved it too. Definitely a 10/10 experience!

The food here is pretty decent for the price. Always get their large combo one which has beef, tendon, and some tripe. The portions are quite good for the pho but I think that the toppings are sometimes a little skimpy. We also got the spring rolls and there was only two piece of lettuce for four rolls which didn’t really make a lot of sense. The service was good and they got our orders pretty quickly. If I can recommend anything, try the avocado smoothie because that is like the best things to get here as well. I saw them make it and they actually use fresh avocados, condensed milk, and that is amazing.

The spring rolls were delicious! I love when they give you the lettuce and basil to wrap it in. On the downside, limited air conditioning , but that's almost always the case in Chinatown.
